Fifteen more exhibition games were canceled by baseball officials because of the strike, and 11 were added to the spring training schedule.

Among the canceled games were neutral-site exhibitions March 31 at Las Vegas, and Memphis, Tenn.; April 1 at Las Vegas, Memphis, Nashville, Tenn., and San Antonio, and April 2 at Las Vegas and San Antonio. Also canceled was the Colorado Rockies’ game on April 2 at Baltimore.

Left-hander Danny Jackson had surgery in January for a thyroid condition, about a month after signing a free-agent deal with the St. Louis Cardinals.

St. Louis wouldn’t elaborate on the medical problem, and team physician Stan London refused to comment, citing doctor-patient confidentiality. Team officials said it was not a life-threatening condition.
