Microsoft Windows 95 Flawed, Magazine Says: A test version of Microsoft Corp.’s long-awaited operating system has a major flaw that can freeze up a computer when running certain applications, InfoWorld Magazine said. The company is aware of the problem, but is shipping 450,000 anyway as part of a preview program, the magazine said. Nicholas Petreley, the magazine’s executive editor, said the system’s inability to handle some types of sophisticated applications made it questionable for business use. Microsoft is the world’s leading maker of personal computer software. The anticipated release of Windows 95 is one of the most significant events in the software industry.
