LAKE CASITAS : State to Buy 2nd Floating Restroom
- Share via
A second floating restroom will soon be bobbing on the surface of Lake Casitas.
Dubbed S.S. Relief, the $43,000 seaworthy toilet will be purchased by the state through a grant approved unanimously this week by the board of the Casitas Municipal Water District.
Brent Doan, a ranger at Lake Casitas, said the facility should arrive within the next few months.
The first floating restroom was launched at the lake in 1991 and has been popular among weekend boaters.
District officials say the floating toilets are easier to clean than onshore facilities and are more likely to keep the reservoir from being contaminated.
