Kindergarten Sign-Ups Will Begin April 5
Registration begins April 5 for fall kindergarten classes in the Garden Grove Unified School District, a spokesman said.
A child must be 5 on or before Dec. 2 for admission in fall classes, without exception, spokesman Alan Trudell said.
As proof of a child’s birth date, parents must provide to the school a birth certificate, baptism certificate, passport, immigration visa or similar document.
Parents may provide an affidavit when no other document is available, Trudell said.
State law requires children to be immunized for polio, red measles, diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, German measles and mumps before enrolling.
Parents must provide written documentation of immunizations from their doctor or health care agency, he said.
Parents are encouraged to register their children April 5, although they may register as late as June 20.
After June 20, enrollment will cease until school offices reopen in fall, Trudell said.
Information on attendance areas is available from the district’s Child Welfare and Attendance Office, (714) 663-6391.
