Huntington Beach’s City Gym and Pool was recently placed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Built in 1931, the facility at 17th Street and Palm Avenue has a distinctive brick and stucco exterior with an elaborate arch entry area. It was built in the neoclassical style and includes decorative tiles in the pool and restrooms.

Huntington Beach officials said that the building is one of the oldest in the city. The gym is one of the few large structures to survive the 1933 Long Beach earthquake.
