Finances Cited in Gucci Killing
The prosecutor investigating the slaying of Maurizio Gucci said Tuesday that the shooting of the fashion family scion was probably a professional hit over financial deals.
Disagreeing with earlier police speculation, investigators suggested Tuesday that the Monday attack was carried out by a professional.
Deputy Prosecutor Carlo Nocerino planned to question the shooting’s main witness, a doorman who was hospitalized with leg and arm wounds after the fleeing gunman shot him.
Gucci was the grandson of Guccio Gucci, who founded the company known for fine leather goods.
The Italian news agency ANSA reported that Nocerino was considering going to Switzerland to look into financial transactions by Gucci in the last few years.
