A Gulf War veteran who admitted he lied when he said battle stress drove him to deal cocaine was sentenced Friday to 2 1/2 years in prison.

U.S. District Judge Richard Kopf also ordered Eric (Shawn) Perry, 25, to three years of supervised release and 200 hours of community service. He said he was an Army medic and that a child died in his arms in a bombed-out Iraqi village.
