WESTMINSTER : Eastwood Elementary Gets Computer System
Teachers, parents and students unveiled a new library computer system at Frank N. Eastwood Elementary School on Monday.
The system includes five networked computers and a printer. It keeps a running tally of the number of books each child reads with the goal of encouraging children to read 25 books by summer, spokeswoman Audrey Brown said.
Students collected more than 110,000 pennies to help pay for software used with the $6,000 “electronic bookshelf.” The computer system was purchased with corporate donations, Brown said.
The school is seeking donations of new and used computers to upgrade its lab: Irene Willis at (714) 895-4217.
