Honor Cyclist’s Memory by Making Streets Safer

Share

* A very special person was killed in a tragic accident on Feb. 26. This handsome, physically fit 36-year-old cyclist was riding his usual bike route when a motorist ended his life.

He was a civilian employee of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and would soon have become a sheriff’s officer. Only 22 days before his death, he celebrated a joyous Greek American wedding with a beautiful Los Angeles County deputy sheriff.

Alexandre M. White’s charm and charisma lit up an entire city. His positive attitude and good deeds won him great respect from his community. Everyone loved him.

Please let Alex’s death not go unnoticed. Others who share his passion for cycling need to be protected. Bicyclists are forced to share the same roadways with motorists, compromising their safety. Let’s build more bike paths distant from motorists, and redesign our city to provide alternate paths of travel.
