STYLE/ FASHION : In the Buff

Share

Going nude means baring all--unless you’re wearing clothes that blend with the color of your skin. This spring, designers are flirting with nudity in fashions that suggest the body revealed. Donna Karan had the sexiness of exposed skin in mind when she designed her hosiery in the barest shades and sheerest sheers possible, then extended the go-naked illusion to clothing. For her, dressing a woman “all begins with the leg.” So-called flesh tones abound this season--and not just on the lighter end of the spectrum. Besides cool pinks, blushing peaches and warm terra-cottas, there are soft honeys, rich cappuccinos and dark chocolates to choose from. When the moment is right, slipping into one of these updated neutrals may be the closest you’ll ever come to wearing nothing at all.
