Police Deserving of More Praise
I have just read the article of April 7 about police help and humanity (“The Care and Order Police Give Far Outweigh the Negative”).
This kind of article is way past due. The police get a bum rap. They risk their lives and go an extra mile in so many ways. They’re always first in line to help (even off duty). They try to protect the populace only to be shot down (both figuratively and literally) by the unlawful. In their efforts to do their job, they have their hands tied behind their backs by laws that favor the criminal.
When are we, as a society, going to admit that the police are our only refuge and give them support and laws needed to protect us law-abiding citizens?
Isn’t it time for us to stand up and start being positive instead of negative? It’s past time to admit that our society is in serious trouble.
