Seal Beach : Navy League Honors Rockwell Chairman

Donald R. Beall, chairman and chief executive officer of Rockwell International Corp., has been honored by a civilian organization for his contributions to naval strength and national security.

Beall, 56, was presented with the Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz Award for 1995 from the Navy League in recognition of his 27-year career at Seal Beach-based Rockwell. The league is a 70,000-member Washington-based group formed in support of the Navy.

Navy League members honored Beall for his company’s development of electronic technologies and weapons systems used by the United States and allied countries, including a satellite-based global positioning system and submarine combat systems.

He accepted the award Wednesday night on behalf of Rockwell’s 85,400 employees worldwide.
