Company Town : Peter Aronson Named President of Witt-Thomas Films

Peter B. Aronson has been named president of Witt-Thomas Films, the Warner Bros.-based feature film development and production company.

Aronson, 28, most recently served as co-president of Mayhem Pictures, a comedy feature division of Witt-Thomas Films, where he developed such projects as “Break In” and “Smokejumpers.” Aronson fills the job formerly held by Stuart Oken.

Prior to founding Mayhem for Witt-Thomas in 1994, Aronson was vice president of development for Witt-Thomas TV.

* The shake-ups continue at Walt Disney’s Hollywood Records. According to sources there, John Fagot, the company’s recently hired senior vice president of promotion, is cutting loose five field promotion staff people this week. More changes are expected in the next two weeks.

* Dani Sexton has joined the talent department of the Agency for the Performing Arts.

* Mark Kaplan has been named director of sales and marketing at Todd-AO Studios.

* Hearst Animation Productions has named Carol R. Monroe senior vice president and executive producer.

* Cathy Goyette has been promoted to business manager for Prime Sports-West, formerly Prime Ticket Network.

* Kelley Avery has been appointed senior vice president of retail marketing and merchandising for Buena Vista Home Video.

* Costa Communications has named Tracy Bagatelle its publicist for music and special projects.

* Jane Williams has been promoted to director of business development at New Line Cinema.

* Post Group announced the appointment of Ron Silveria to the position of chief operating officer.
