HOLLYWOOD : Two Men Held in Fatal Shooting of Man, 19

Two men are being held on suspicion of murder in the fatal shooting in Hollywood on Sunday of a 19-year-old man, police said.

The victim was shot at least once in the face at 9:52 p.m. and died at the scene in the 6100 block of Santa Monica Boulevard, said Hollywood homicide detective John Miller.

The suspects allegedly pulled up in their car and began arguing with the man as he was standing on the corner of Santa Monica Boulevard and El Centro Avenue. One of the two suspects allegedly pulled out a gun and shot the victim, Miller said.

The two suspects were arrested about 90 minutes later on the Hollywood Freeway, driving a blue 1984 Honda Civic, according to police. Sergio P. Marmolejo, 21, of Reseda and Giovanni Cajina, 20, of North Hollywood were arrested on suspicion of murder, Miller said.

Authorities are not releasing the name of the victim pending notification of his relatives, said a coroner’s spokesman.
