THOUSAND OAKS : County OKs Signal for Busy Intersection

Share

Ventura County supervisors have approved a plan to install a traffic light at the busy intersection of Rockfield Street and Lindero Canyon Road, near the Thousand Oaks city limits.

The traffic light will be installed as part of a cooperative agreement between the county and the city of Thousand Oaks, which has jurisdiction over three corners of the intersection. The other corner is part of the unincorporated community of Oak Park.

Under the agreement worked out by Supervisor Frank Schillo, the city will pay 75% of the $117,000 cost of the signal and the county will pay the balance. The city and county will also share maintenance costs.

A contract has been awarded to TDS Engineering of Westlake Village to install the signal, which county officials said should be in place by early July.
