WOODLAND HILLS — A 43-year-old Los Angeles man was arrested early Saturday in connection with a dawn burglary that netted an estimated $20,000 in computer equipment from two businesses in the west San Fernando Valley, authorities said.
Narvie Richmond was arrested outside his home on West 111th Street and taken to the Los Angeles Police Department’s West Valley Division, where he was being held on suspicion of burglary, said Detective Fred Duitsman.
An unidentified man was arrested with Richmond but not booked for the burglary, Duitsman said. He was taken to the Police Department’s Southeast Division, where he was held on outstanding warrants, Duitsman said.
The men were arrested after a police sergeant in South Los Angeles spotted a van whose description and license plate number matched those provided by a security guard who witnessed the 6:45 a.m. heist in the 6300 block of Variel Avenue, Duitsman said. Police said that when they peered inside the van, they found the computer equipment reported stolen from Paragon Business Systems and its industrial park neighbor, Infinity Group.
