Alice E. Cuenin; Community Volunteer
Alice E. Cuenin, a longtime Ventura resident and community volunteer, has died after a brief illness. She was 78.
Mrs. Cuenin, who died Thursday, was a former retail clothing sales clerk before her retirement in 1982.
A longtime member of Community Presbyterian Church in Ventura, she was active in the philanthropic sorority Delta Theta Tau, where she held various offices, including that of president, family members said.
Mrs. Cuenin was also a 4-H Club clothing leader for several years.
Born in Salem, Ore., she is survived by two daughters, Susan Cuenin of San Luis Obispo and Sara Hill of Phoenix; a brother, Emmett Cosper of Elma, Wash., five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A service will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Community Presbyterian Church in Ventura. Arrangements are being handled by Ted Mayr Funeral Home, Ventura.
