Kerr-McGee to Quit Oil Refining, Marketing: The company said it plans to leave the businesses, which account for more than half its sales, and concentrate on exploration, chemicals and coal operations. A spokesman for Oklahoma City-based Kerr-McGee Corp. said that although refining and marketing were profitable in 1994, the business had losses in previous years. As part of its program to exit the refining and marketing business, the company said, it has already sold an oil extraction and refining process to Dresser Industries Inc.’s M.W. Kellogg Co. subsidiary.
