Aqueduct Striper Visits the Scales at Pyramid
The biggest fish weighed at Pyramid Lake in the last week wasn’t even caught there.
But lake employee Milt Green thought it was worthy of mention, because the hulking striped bass tipped his scale at 38 pounds.
Bruce Adams of Palmdale battled the huge striper for half an hour on 12-pound test line while fishing near the Los Angeles County reservoir in the L.A. Aqueduct. He brought it to the lake merely to get it weighed.
Green’s jaw dropped.
“You’re not talking fillets, you’re talking steaks,” he said of the fish.
