Ten-year Camarillo resident John Stellman died of an apparent heart attack while on a ski vacation in Lake Tahoe on April 22. He was 44.

“He loved skiing, sailing, anything outdoors,” said Patricia Stellman, his wife of seven years.

Stellman worked as a software engineer for Jet Propulsion Laboratories in Pasadena, where he met his wife. He was to take a new job at Raytheon in Oxnard on May 1, and the couple planned to move to the Santa Ynez Valley in the coming weeks.

“I’m not going anywhere now,” said Mrs. Stellman, who plans to remain in Camarillo. In addition to outdoor activities, Stellman also loved flying. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Yvonne Stellman of Camarillo; his mother, Clara Stellman of Shreveport, La.; his brother, Felix Stellman of Houston, Tex., and his sisters, Shelly Buckley of Baton Rouge, La., and Rita Damm of Claremont, Ill.
