A man was shot to death Thursday night in a parking lot of a fast-food restaurant on Lincoln Avenue, investigators said.

Detectives are looking for two assailants who, according to witnesses, drove into a parking lot in the 2600 block of Lincoln Avenue and fired at least one shot at the victim, Police Sgt. Mike Gray said. The men were last seen heading north on Magnolia Avenue, Gray said.

Police arrived at 6:30 p.m. to find the man lying on his back, surrounded by three friends who were present at the time of the shooting.

“They were trying to hold him together until help arrived,” Gray said. “He had been bleeding heavily by the neck.”

Johnny Jorquez, 19, of Los Angeles died shortly afterward at West Anaheim Medical Center.

Bullet casings found at the scene revealed that the gunman had used some type of an automatic weapon, which has not been recovered, Gray said. A motive has not been established and police did not know if the shooting was gang-related.
