Conservancy Honors Preservation Projects
The Los Angeles Conservancy will honor several individuals and historic preservation projects at its 14th annual awards luncheon May 10 at the Biltmore Hotel.
Los Angeles City Councilman Mark Ridley-Thomas will be honored for preservation leadership and Margaret Bach, who founded the conservancy in 1978, will receive the president’s award.
Also being honored for historic preservation are the Banning Residence Museum landscape plan, the Mary Andrews Clark Residence, “Greetings From Hollywood: A Walking Tour & Activity Book for Kids of All Ages,” the Hale Building restoration in Pasadena, restoration of Frank Lloyd Wright’s La Miniatura house in Pasadena, the Los Angeles Coliseum earthquake restoration and landscape project, restoration of the Craftsman-style Mariposa house in the Hollywood Hills, and the USC program of short courses in historic preservation.
