The Orange County Performing Arts Center’s 1995-96 chamber music series has been announced. Oct. 22 at 7 p.m., the Emerson String Quartet will play Haydn’s Quartet in G, Opus 33, No. 5; Shostakovich’s Quartet No. 3, and Dvorak’s Quartet in A-flat, Opus 105. Nov. 4 at 8 p.m., the Artis String Quartet from Austria, in its center debut, will play Mozart’s Quartet No. 4; Mendelssohn’s Quartet No. 2, and Alexander Zemlinsky’s Quartet No. 2. Feb. 14 at 8 p.m. in another center debut, the Chilingirian String Quartet from Great Britain will play Britten’s “Miniature Suite”; John Tavener’s Quartet No. 2 (“The Last Sleep of the Virgin”); Alfred Schnittke’s Quartet No. 2, and Arvo Part’s “Fratres.” March 17 at 4 p.m., Cuarteto Latinoamericano will play Juan Arriaga’s Cuarteto No. 3; Silvestre Revueltas’ Cuarteto No. 2 (“Musica de Feria”); Mario Lavista’s “Reflegos de la Noche”; Stravinsky’s Three Pieces for Quartet, and Mozart’s Quartet in D, K. 499. April 26 at 8 p.m., the Endellion String Quartet will play Haydn’s Quartet in B-flat, Opus 76, No. 4; Bartok’s Quartet No. 3, and Beethoven’s Quartet No. 8 in E minor. All performances will be in Founders Hall. Series tickets are on sale now for $90 ($40 for students); tickets to individual concerts will cost $20 and will go on sale about six weeks before the date.
