Semtech Posts Profits of $569,000; Revenues Up 43%

Semtech Corp., a Newbury Park semiconductor maker, reported that earnings surged to $569,000 on record revenues of $7.67 million in the fourth quarter that ended Jan. 29. The results represent a substantial increase over earnings of $70,000 in the fourth quarter a year ago.
Revenues in the latest quarter were 43% higher than the $5.36 million a year earlier.
For the full year, earnings were $1.19 million compared to $95,000 in the year prior. Full-year revenues were up 21% to $25.8 million from $21.3 million the previous year.
The company attributed the gain to increased orders from the telecommunications and computer industries.
