Steve Millen of Newport Beach was in intensive care at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville with a broken vertebra in his neck and a skull fracture sustained in a collision during Sunday’s Grand Prix of Road Atlanta car races.

Jennifer Brundage, from Irvine High, hit four home runs as UCLA beat Oregon twice in a Pac-10 softball doubleheader at California. Brundage’s four home runs give her a UCLA single-season record 12. She had a pair of three-run homers in the first game as the top-ranked Bruins won, 13-1. She had two home runs--one of them a grand slam--in the second game, which UCLA won, 5-0.
