A Vote for Santa Ana’s Homeless Policy

* Re: Homeless law.

The letters you receive addressing the long-term homeless issue in Santa Ana no longer astound me as before.

All one needs to do is look for the city from which the letter came and one can understand all the bleeding heart sentiments. None are ever from Santa Ana, a city in which I have lived and worked many years. And these years seem to have taught me most clearly that those who complain against the law the strongest are those who have not been subjected to the homeless, who by majority are there by choice, and what that choice of theirs has done to our entire image, real estate devaluation and resident exodus.

I remember well those bleeding hearts appearing before our City Council to complain how inhumane we are, yet every speaker having an address of Irvine or other surrounding city. It is true! If we keep them here in Santa Ana and make them feel welcome and comfy--it’s a given they won’t migrate to Irvine.

I look forward to seeing other cities having the backbone to see right from wrong and following the lead of Santa Ana. It will be most interesting to see what the bleeding hearts have to say then.
