Honor: Three Selected as Best Ethnic Screenwriters

Three Westside residents have been selected as best screenwriters in the National Writers Ethnic Minority Screenwriters Contest.

The three, Lorenzo Matawaran, Tito Morales and Ignacio Salazar were among five winners selected from a pool of 150 applicants.

The winners will receive a $500 cash award at a ceremony on June 29 at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood. Their scripts will be distributed by National Writers Workshop representatives to various Hollywood studios.

The National Writers Workshop began as an outreach program of the American Film Institute in 1979.
