2 Teen-Agers Kidnaped in Chino Hills Robbery Found Safe

Two teen-age boys who had been kidnaped during a home invasion robbery in Chino Hills were found safe along a freeway early Sunday, but they have given investigators inconsistent versions of their abduction, authorities said.

Neither boy was harmed, but their stories “don’t totally collaborate,” said San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Deputy Cheryl Huff, a department spokeswoman. The boys were dropped off on the Pomona Freeway at Mountain Avenue shortly after 3 a.m., she said.

The boys, 16 and 17, told deputies that they had been driven “for a long time” in a van after their abduction Friday night, taken to a house and locked in a closet, fed and asked about gang affiliations, Huff said.

Investigators are seeking five suspects, allegedly gang members, who kidnaped the boys and terrorized 19 people at a party at the home Friday, the deputy said. The armed invaders stole a 1995, 2-door, red Acura Integra and a 2-door, red Honda Civic, Huff said.

Residents told investigators that five masked men carrying shotguns emerged from a van about 8:30 p.m. Friday and entered the house. Everyone inside was ordered to the garage and told to lie face down on the floor.

A teen-age girl, who was sexually assaulted, was treated at a hospital and released Saturday, investigators said, adding that they were still trying to determine who the robbers were, their motive and why that home was targeted.
