CAMARILLO : Condominium Plan OKd by Council

Share

Saying they like the architecture and planned amenities, the Camarillo City Council has approved a proposal from a development company to build 66 clustered condominium units on a nine-acre parcel in central Camarillo.

At its meeting Tuesday, the council gave the go-ahead to the Sares-Regis Group proposal to build the 66 units in 14 sections or clusters. The units measure from 1,505 square feet to 1,987 square feet each.

The site, now being used to grow row crops, is adjacent to St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital on Las Posas Road.

Each unit, to be built with wood frame and stucco, will feature a Spanish design with two-car garages, large windows and chimneys. Common areas will include recreation areas, tot lots, recreational vehicle parking spaces and a swimming pool.

The city’s Planning Commission also approved the project at a meeting earlier this month.

A spokesman for the development company said construction is expected to start in the spring of 1996 and that the project’s smaller units would be priced at about $170,000 each.
