Arthur Andersen & Co. has resigned as its independent auditor because the company no longer meets the accounting firm’s client criteria.

Comprehensive Care, which provides management services to the heath care industry, said it is seeking a replacement for Arthur Andersen to audit the company’s financial statements for the fiscal year ending Wednesday.

Arthur Andersen said it does not want to have its reports included in any registration statements that Comprehensive Care might file, the company said.

However, Comprehensive Care said Arthur Andersen confirmed that there were no disagreements in the past with the company on any matter of accounting principles or practices, financial statement disclosure, or audit scope or procedures.

The company said in a statement that it is confident that “new auditors will be engaged shortly.”
