AT&T;, Unions Report Progress: Negotiations for a new contract were expected to continue until early morning today in New York City for the second day in a row. “If things continue in a positive vein, we will be bargaining hard and long,” said Jeff Miller, a spokesman for the Communications Workers of America. “Things have been heated at times.” AT&T; has been bargaining since April 3. Health benefits and job security are major issues.
