High Cost of Using Private Ambulance
* I feel the County Board of Supervisors’ decision to not allow firefighters to compete in the paramedic program will hurt many of us when we’re most vulnerable.
Any person needing an ambulance doesn’t call for fun; it’s desperation. We call and then get hit with a bill that could feed a family for two weeks. I feel it’s unfair to give these contract companies such an advantage.
I’d feel safer with a firefighter by far than with the “boys” who took care of me when I had to use [a private ambulance company].
