World IN BRIEF : INDIA : Heat Wave Kills at Least 35 in North

A heat wave with temperatures up to 120 degrees killed at least 35 people last week in northern India, news reports said. Friday was the hottest day this year in New Delhi at 114 degrees. The scorching heat, which lasts past sunset, has led to a severe water and electricity crisis in the capital. Most of the 9 million residents are getting water for only a couple of hours each day.
