TUSTIN : New Principal Named for Nelson Elementary
Darlene Messinger has been appointed the new principal of W.R. Nelson Elementary School, replacing Connie Smith, who will become principal of Tustin Ranch Elementary School.
Both will begin their new assignments in the Tustin Unified School District on July 1.
Messinger was principal of Nelson Elementary during the 1991-92 school year before taking a leave of absence.
For the past two years, she has been a grant coordinator for Laguna Road Elementary School in the Fullerton School District.
Messinger has also served the Fullerton district as an administrative intern/assistant principal at Valencia Park Elementary School and as a fourth- and fifth-grade teacher of gifted and talented education at Laguna Road.
She holds a master’s degree in education administration and a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies from Cal State Fullerton.
