Officials of Camarillo and the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department will host a dedication ceremony and open house Saturday for the renovated Camarillo Sheriff’s Station on Las Posas Road.
City officials, who contract with the department for police services, spent about $4.5 million on renovations to the former Bill Esty Center, a mixed-use commercial center at 3701 E. Las Posas Road, for the force of 55 sworn deputies.
During Saturday’s event, scheduled to run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the department will offer tours of the building and will present displays of department equipment used by the special-weapons team, the citizen disaster assistance response team, K-9 units and the department’s new MD-530 patrol helicopter, according to Sgt. Mike Lewis.
Refreshments will be served. For more information, call 388-5132.
