Salute to Seniors ’95

Share

Members of Orange County’s Class of ’95 have much to reflect on.

They have excelled in many areas, often meeting challenges with courage, energy, determination and good humor.

Some have made the commitment to academics that will take them to the nation’s top universities. Many have extended a helping hand to their communities: serving at soup kitchens, cleaning up graffiti, running Red Cross blood drives and tutoring. Others have touched hearts with their music and art. Some have led their classmates in new directions--away from violence as a solution to problems.

Some have persevered in the face of overwhelming personal adversity: grave illnesses, emotional and financial difficulties at home, pressures to join gangs or use drugs.

For its annual Salute to Seniors, The Times invited all 75 Orange County high schools to nominate students who have distinguished themselves in the areas of leadership, academics and the arts.

From those nominees, one from each school was chosen to be featured in today’s edition--students who may or may not have been their school’s “top” student, but who, by their involvement and accomplishments, seem to especially represent the hopes for the future.

The Times salutes these students and their classmates who form Orange County’s Class of 1995.
