WEST LOS ANGELES : Man to Stand Trial in O’Connor Drug Case

Share

The man accused of selling drugs to actor Carroll O’Connor’s son must stand trial on a felony drug count, a judge ruled Friday.

After a 3 1/2-hour preliminary hearing, West Los Angeles Municipal Judge Linda Lefkowitz found sufficient evidence to order Harry Thomas Perzigian held over for trial on a charge of possession of cocaine for sale. Perzigian, 39, will be arraigned in Superior Court on June 23.

“The judge was absolutely, perfectly correct,” O’Connor told reporters outside the courtroom. “The judge said it appears that he is guilty of the charge so he must go to trial.”

The 71-year-old actor helped lead police to Perzigian on March 29, the day after Hugh O’Connor’s drug-related depression prompted him to commit suicide.
