FULLERTON : New Principal Named at Nicolas Junior High
A Rancho Cucamonga educator has been chosen to become principal at Nicolas Junior High School.
The Fullerton School Board hired Cucamonga Elementary School Principal Steven Keller to take over the reins at Nicolas. Keller will begin his new job in the fall and his salary will be determined Tuesday at a board meeting.
Mary Dalessi, who has been principal at Nicolas for nine years, has been reassigned and will be a classroom teacher in the fall.
The principal’s transfer caused one family to stage a handful of protests in front of the school and at a school board meeting in an effort to persuade trustees to keep Dalessi in her post, even though she requested the switch herself.
Trustees said they could not comment on Dalessi’s reassignment because the matter involved personnel issues.
