He Has Negative Thoughts About Coverage of NBA

Share

We, the L.A. Times’ sports-reading audience, have now been posed with the headache of having to receive coverage of the entire NBA through Mark Heisler’s negative, petulant eyes. Without question, there are negative influences in the league (Derrick Coleman, Isaiah Rider, Chris Morris, Scottie Pippen), but why is it that players who display brashness (not boorishness, mind you) such as Nick Van Exel are branded as having “an attitude.”

Most recently, he jumped on Eddie Jones for having “an attitude.” Heisler, is it that Jones doesn’t like to do interviews or that Jones doesn’t like to do interviews with you ? Jones also, contrary to your column, enthusiastically does charity work with youth (EJ’s Kids).

Is Heisler ever happy? One gets the impression that if he were given the chance to be married to Halle Berry or Sharon Stone, he’d complain that they couldn’t iron a shirt or bake cookies.
