Less Volatile Gas Prices: The cost of gasoline has jumped almost a penny per gallon in three weeks, but an oil industry analyst predicted that prices will stabilize. The overall price of gas, including self- and full-serve, was 128.62 cents a gallon in Friday’s survey of gas stations nationwide, analyst Trilby Lundberg said. That’s an increase of 0.93 cents from the May 19 survey. “As we head into our heaviest driving weeks, some cities are already peaking,” she said. “Nationally the prices will soon level off as they already have in several metropolitan cities.” The June 9 Lundberg Survey showed the average price of gasoline, including taxes, at self-serve pumps was 122.43 cents for unleaded regular, 132.08 cents for mid-grade unleaded, 140.51 cents for premium unleaded and 121.80 cents for leaded regular.
