LOS ANGELES : 2 Sentenced to Prison in Drug Trafficking Case
Two Colombian men who pleaded guilty to involvement in a North American drug trafficking ring were sentenced Monday to federal prison terms of more than 10 years.
Gustavo Arias-Pinzon, 40, and Jorge Sofrony Gordillo, 43, were part of a Los Angeles-based network that shipped drugs from San Gabriel Valley to New York, Chicago and Canadian cities, said Assistant U.S. Atty. Lisa Lench.
Arias, a courier for the operation, was given 11 years, three months in prison and five years of supervised release. Gordillo was sentenced to 10 years, one month in prison and five years of supervised release.
