Share

The owners of a garment district clothing factory were recently ordered to pay $6,402 in fines after pleading no contest to violating state labor laws.

Charges filed against the owners of Unique Fashion, at 722 S. Los Angeles St., stemmed from an investigation of the company’s records and interviews with workers, said Deputy City Atty. Deborah Sanchez.

Ok Ja Hong, 42, and her husband, Sung Gil Hong, 48, were charged with four counts of failing to provide an employee with a wage statement, one count of failing to maintain timekeeping records, and one count of failing to register a garment business with the state labor commissioner.
