Clyde Kent Englund; Retired Engineer

A Conejo Valley resident for 16 years, Clyde Kent Englund of Thousand Oaks died last week. He was 78.

Born in Denver, Colo., on May 30, 1917, Englund was a graduate of the University of Oregon and the Curtiss-Wright School of Aeronautics. He served as director of training for the Brazilian Air Force Technical School of Aviation from 1943 to 1946 in Rio de Janeiro.

A retired engineer for Lockheed Corp., where he worked for 32 years, Englund was an avid golfer, gourmet cook and traveler.

He is survived by his wife, Kay, and his son, Robert of Laguna Beach. Arrangements are under the direction of Pierce Brothers Griffin Mortuary, Thousand Oaks.
