DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SHELTERS--Authorized $3.4 million for a domestic violence shelter program that will nearly triple the beds available to battered women and their children. The motion unanimously passed the council without debate. The money will be used for renovation, acquisition, development and operating expenses. It will add 192 beds to shelters throughout the city. The agencies to receive funding are the Center for the Pacific Asian Family in the Hollywood/Fairfax area, (213) 653-4042; Jenesse Center Inc. in West Adams, (213) 751-1145; American Philanthropy Assn. in Mid-Wilshire; Rainbow Services Ltd. in Wilmington, (310) 835-9591; 1736 Family Crisis Center, with shelters in South Central and in the South Bay, (310) 379-3620; L.A. House of Ruth in Boyle Heights, (213) 266-4139; Haven Hills in Canoga Park, (818) 887-6589; Jewish Family Services of L.A. in Canoga Park, (818) 581-3333, and Didi Hirsch Psychiatric Services in the Northeast Valley.
