Countywide : Needy Youngsters Can Get Free Meals
The Salvation Army will provide free meals through the end of September to needy youngsters 19 years and younger, a spokeswoman said.
The Summer Food Service Program will remain in operation through Sept. 30 at the Salvation Army Red Shield Youth Center, 1710 W. Edinger Ave., Santa Ana, and the Salvation Army Corps Community Center, 201 E. Cypress St., Anaheim, spokesman John Covert said.
Children who are members of food stamp or food distribution programs, Native American reservation households or who receive Aid to Families with Dependent Children are automatically eligible to receive the free meals. Children enrolled in summer programs and residential camps at the two Salvation Army locations also may be eligible, Covert said.
