DANA POINT : Panel to Consider Restaurant Permit

Share

The Planning Commission tonight will consider granting a coastal development permit for a new restaurant at Dana Point Plaza.

If plans are approved, Hennessey’s Tavern, which also has restaurants in Seal Beach and Marina del Rey, would occupy the building, which has served as Vic’s Market since the late 1950s.

Plans for the restaurant include an outdoor dining courtyard and an 84-car parking lot, as well as improvements to the existing building.

City officials say they expect the new restaurant to help revitalize Dana Point Plaza by drawing more people to the area. Because Hennessey’s will be open seven days a week from 6 a.m. to 2 a.m., city staffers said, it will establish “a foundation of activity.”
