9 Die in French Cave
Associated Press
ROUEN, France —
Nine people were found dead in a cave in western France on Thursday, including three missing teen-agers and four members of a rescue team who had gone to search for them.
All apparently died of an unidentified toxic gas in the cave, used to store Nazi V-1 rockets during World War II. Authorities said the type and origin of the gas were under investigation. The cave is outside the village of Buchy near Rouen.
