PowerWare Inc.: The Irvine software company has acquired exclusive rights to ExpensePlus, one of the top-selling Newton software products. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The business financial program runs on all devices based on the Newton platform, including Apple’s MessagePad, Sharp’s ExpertPad and Motorola’s Marco. PowerWare plans to adapt the product to Microsoft Windows and Apple’s Macintosh operating systems. The company also expects to deliver a new version of the expense-tracking software by October.
