Input Sought on AIDS Prevention

Share

Ventura County residents concerned about AIDS and the virus that causes it are invited to help develop a communitywide HIV-prevention plan.

The plan will be developed with input from the community and must be completed by December, according to the terms of state funding.

The Ventura County Department of Health Services is seeking interested adults of all ages and races and representing various organizations. The HIV Prevention Plan members will be asked to attend monthly group meetings from July through December, read materials and commit about eight hours to the project each month.

The goal will be to help assess the extent of AIDS and HIV exposure in the community now and in the future, assess resources available to help, outline unmet needs and plan prevention programs.

Those who are interested but unable to join can receive materials about the program.
