Rainbow Technologies Inc.: The Irvine computer technology company has sold its VendorSystem CD-ROM concept to Vendor Systems International Inc., a new company formed by Cycle Software Services in Minneapolis, Minn. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, although Rainbow said it would receive an interest in the new company. A Rainbow spokeswoman said Tuesday that the new company would be better able to develop a market for the VendorSystem technology. The technology allows consumers to buy a disc containing assorted software demos to try out, and then call the software maker for a code to unlock the actual programs, which are stored on the same CD-ROM.
